PERSONAL PROFILE

Wang Hongxin(Mo Chuan)received his Ph.D. in Economics from Beijing Normal University (BNU) in 2004. He is currently a professor and PhD supervisor at the School of Sociology of BNU. He also serves as the director of the Academy for Global Development of BNU. He previously served as Associate Dean of the School of Government and Chair of the Undergraduate Teaching Guidance Committee, as well as a member of the Subcommittee on Public Administration of the University Academic Degree Committee. He currently holds several concurrent positions, including Expert Member of the Administrative Management Standardization Technical Committee under the Standardization Administration of China (SAC), Appointed Expert and Head of the Expert Advisory Group for the National Occupational Standard for Housing Inspectors (Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security & Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development), and Council Member of the United Nations Association of China (UNA-China). He has received numerous honors, including “Outstanding Member of the Communist Party of China” and “Excellent Alumni Affairs Worker” (Longyuan Shuren Award) from Beijing Normal University.

Wang Hongxin has led nearly 30 national and provincial-level projects, including the Key Program of the National Social Science Fund of China (NSSFC) “Policy Research on Idle Land in Urban-Rural Integrated Development under the Rural Revitalization Strategy”. He has published over 120 academic papers in journals and newspapers such as Science, Asia Pacific Journal of Public Administration, Management World, World Economy Studies, Journal of Natural Resources, Economic Geography, and China Resources News. He is the author or editor of 36 books, including monographs, textbooks, and translations such as Research on Land Policy Innovation in Comprehensive Deepening Reform, Introduction to Adaptive Development, and Land Resource Policy. Nearly 20 of his policy advisory reports have received written instructions from top Party and State leaders or have been adopted by the General Office of the CPC Central Committee and the General Office of the State Council. He has also participated in academic exchanges and conferences at institutions including the University of London (UK), Seoul National University (Korea), and the University of Hong Kong. He serves as a peer reviewer for top-tier (Q1) international journals such as Nature Sustainability, World Development, and BMJ Global Health.
